This article addresses religion's role an academic world. He follows three colleges, Eckerd College being the Presbyterian based. Presbyterian college's have vaule related courses in the Bible but not doctrine."In short, it appears to be a challenging and diverse course which provides students with thoughtful ethical and religious perspectives that they could apply to other problems later in their lives; it is not simply a current events course. " He then points out that 31 of 42 Presbyterian colleges have at least one required values related course. Since Presbyterianism differs from regions, Southern Presbyterians have an average of 2.17 courses related to values but the North has an average of 1.42. Compared to other religous based colleges Presbyterian Colleges do not focus on religion at all. It seems that Presbyterians are moral but doesn't have religion dictate their entire life.
